Time changes many things.  Among the neighborhoods that we traversed, some areas
are changing for the better, while some neighborhoods are seeing a decline in aesthetic value.

The Whittier Elementary area has become a very pleasing area in which to live, with the
addition of Whittier Place.
Whittier Place is a housing development that contains many nice new homes.  The people around the new homes seem to care about their neighborhood, and strive to keep it neat.

Washington Elementary School was utilized for many years, but it was torn down to make way for a new school
that combined both Washington and McKinley schools.  It was to be called Washington-McKinley.  They also razed the McKinley building.

Buildings in the immediate area included a church, Equity, Tom Patterson Sohio, Weicharts Pharmacy, Rhoades
TV, and the Tiger Grill, to mention a few.

I remember going to McKinley for Cub Scout pack meetings (Pack 12).  We went to Dr. David Steiner's home on
Bellefontaine Avenue for Cub Scout Den Meetings (Den 4).  When we were Boy Scouts, we played softball behind
Mohler's Flowers Green houses.  Needless to say, we broke a few windows.  What was neat was that you did not have to chip in to pay for the window, OR RUN(Chuckle)!!!!
